I ask you for renaming of this article to (נהר) לאבה because of historical argument that I meant in my discussion. Labe is Czech river (one of main two ones) and that’s why it should have Czech name. Neither you will not use Arab names for names of articles of Israeli places. I think that it’s similar to this case. Czech people have bad experiences with German (or Nazi occupation) when there was forced Germanisation (that means that all the cities, rivers, mountains, etc. were renamed from Czech names to German. Just think about it. Would you name article about Israeli place in Arabic?

Our policy is to use the name commonly used by Hebrew speakers, and politics is totally unrelated to this technical question. Anyhow, as the river runs most of its course through Germany I have to disagree with your claim that this is "a Czech river".

We cannot change the name of this article. Article names are decided not according to being "correct" or "better" in some respect, but according to the name in use by Hebrew speakers. The name you propose is not in use by Hebrew speakers. ‏odedee • שיחה 12:44, 13 באפריל 2008 (IDT)
