גונן שרון (נולד ב־22 במרץ 1967) הוא פרופסור לארכאולוגיה פרהיסטורית במכללה האקדמית תל חי. הוא יסד את המעבדה לפרהיסטוריה במכללה האקדמית תל חי ועומד בראשה. עיקר עבודתו הארכאולוגית מתרכזת בחפירת אתרים פרהיסטוריים לחופו של הירדן העליון במוצאו דרומה מעמק החולה באזור גשר בנות יעקב. מחקריו עוסקים בתקופה הפלאוליתית של עמק החולה, בחקר טכנולוגיות קדומות ובמיוחד כלי האבן מהאתרים העתיקים, בארכאולוגיה ניסויית, בשחזור אורחות חייו של האדם וסביבתו ובאבולוציה של האדם.

קריירה אקדמית[עריכת קוד מקור | עריכה]

שרון נולד ב-1967 בקיבוץ אשדות יעקב איחוד. הוא למד באוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים, שם השלים בשנת 1996 תואר ראשון בארכאולוגיה ופילוסופיה. את התואר הראשון ואת עבודת הדוקטורט שלו עשה בהנחיית פרופסור נעמה גורן-ענבר. עבודת המאסטר שלו עסקה בטכנולוגיה של ייצור כלי בזלת קדומים באתר האשלי גשר בנות יעקב. עבודת הדוקטורט שלו בנושא תעשיות נתזים גדולים באשלית: טכנולוגיה, כרונולוגיה, תפוצה ומשמעות (אושרה בשנת 2007) הגדירה שלב חדש בטכנו-קומפלקס האשלי (התקופה הפלאוליתית התחתונה) בו יוצרו הכלים הדו-פניים (אבני יד וקופיצים), המאפיינים את התרבות האשלית, על נתזים גדולים. עבודת הדוקטורט פורסמה כספר בהוצאת Archaeopress : Acheulian Large Flake Industries - Technology, Chronology, Distribution and Significance

בשנת 2010 נקלט שרון כחבר סגל במכללה האקדמי תל חי בה הוא מלמד בחוגים ללימודים רב תחומיים, מדעי התזונה ובתוכנית לתואר שני בלימודי גליל. בשנת 2016 מונה שרון לדרגת פרופסור חבר.

מחקרים[עריכת קוד מקור | עריכה]

שרון השתתף בין השנים 1995–1997, בחפירות האתר האשלי גשר בנות יעקב.^[1] ומחקריו עסקו בעיקר בטכנולוגיה ואורחות המחיה של האדם בתרבות האשלית. בין השנים 2007 ל-2014 ניהל שמונה עונות חפירה באתר המוסטרי במוצא נחל מחניים (התקופה הפלאוליתית התיכונה) במוצא נחל מחניים לירדן (NMO). שכבות האתר, לגדתו המזרחי של הירדן במוצאו דרומה מעמק החולה, מתעדות תחנות חניה קצרות של ציידי שור הבר לחופו של אגם החולה הקדום.

בשנת 2014 התחיל שרון לנהל את החפירה באתר האפיפלאוליתי מדרגות הירדן (JRD), השוכן גם הוא בגדת הירדן מצפון לגשר בנות יעקב. באתר התקיימה פעילות דייגים לחופו של אגם החולה הקדום בין 20 אלף ל-11 אלף שנים לפני זמננו.

החל בשנת 2012 חוקר שרון את שדה הדולמנים של שמיר, השוכן ליד קיבוץ שמיר, בעקבות התגלית של חריטות הסלע בתקרתו של חדר הקבורה בדולמן ענק (דולמן 3). המחקר הוליך לזיהויו של דולמן מטיפוס חדש שטרם תואר בלבנט. ייחודו בגודלו החריג, קוטרו של גל האבנים המקיף אותו מעל לעשרים מטרים ומשקלה של אבן הכיסוי מוערך בכחמישים טונות, במורכבותו ובחריטות על תקרתו. זו היא אומנות הסלע הראשונה שתוארה מדולמנים במזרח התיכון. פרויקט החפירות והסקר בשדה הדולמנים בשמיר מתבצע בשיתוף רשות העתיקות והאוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים.

שרון מכהן החל מ-2012 כאוצר מוזיאון האדם הקדמון בקיבוץ מעיין ברוך המוקדש לפרהיסטוריה של עמק החולה וממונה על האוסף הענק שהקים אמנון אסף, מייסד המוזיאון, ובו ממצאים בעלי חשיבות עולמית מחפירות פרהיסטוריות ועשרות שנים של סקרים בעמק החולה.
