Original caption: This photo used a lot of zoom. I honestly wasn't in this guy's face. I'm surprised I don't have more photos of people in face masks, actually, there are a lot of them about. At first I thought (combined with the health check / contagion zone at immigration) it was a swine flu thing, but Tom (the guy who met up with me on Saturday) says it's more likely to be about hay fever this time of year; also, that it's considered polite to wear a mask if you have a cold yourself. I'm probably not making myself popular by doing a fair bit of coughing (I still had a sore throat when I arrived and spent the first week on antibiotics; also, the air is really dry here. I'm doing a lot of throat clearing and my skin is falling to bits) and when the sun's out my <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photic_sneeze_reflex" rel="nofollow">photosensitive sneezing</a> is really making itself felt. |
