"Ceramics from Maragogipinho constitute an enormous cultural heritage not only because of the impressive number of approximately 150 active kilns and pottery factories, but also because they are an integral part of the history of over two hundred years of uninterrupted work dedicated to this time-honored artisanal workmanship. [...] The strong expression of the region's ceramics is traditionally found in the so-called "earthenware" and decorative objects.
