תקציר
| תיאור | Dead wildebeest in the Masai River. Thousands upon thousands of wildebeest and zebra migrate every year during June-July from Kenya to Tanzania, and back into Kenya during November, crossing the Masai River enroute. Many don't make it across the Masai River: several are taken by crocodiles in the river, and several just drown, like these ones here. Despite the large number of wildebeest deaths, they are still seen in large numbers. A guard at the river told me that despite the foul smell, no one cleans the river: the dead wildebeest are eaten by crocodiles, hyenas, vultures and other creatures, and the river cleans itself naturally over time.
